Project Overview
Designed on a compact 3.5-Aana plot in Bhaktapur, this home demonstrates how thoughtful architectural planning turns tight land dimensions into light-filled, expansive living space. Featuring traditional local Dachhappa brick facades integrated with black steel structural frames, the residence honors Bhaktapur’s rich masonry heritage.
The Client Brief
Build a modern 4-bedroom house with an ground floor rental unit, master suite on the second floor, and Vastu-compliant kitchen placement.
Design Challenge
Strict municipal setback rules (5 ft front, 3 ft side) on a narrow 28-ft wide plot.
Design Concept & Solution
We utilized split-level floor plates and an internal light court with a operable glass skylight, delivering ample daylight to all internal rooms without compromising privacy.

Achieved 100% municipal approval (Naksha Pass) on first submission and created a benchmark for compact house design in Bhaktapur.
